Dr. Lori Wallrath, Director of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Genetics, was among 5 UI faculty members selected to receive the 2025 Hubbard-Walder Award for Excellence in Teaching by the Council on Teaching. This award, introduced in 2021, is given to UI faculty who have demonstrated excellence in a variety of university teaching and have contributed to curriculum and/or program development. In addition to her educational efforts, Dr. Wallrath has played a major role in shaping graduate education at Iowa, illustrated by her contributions to developing and enhancing the curriculum for the graduate program in genetics and in her role as director of the undergraduate program for the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
