Seminars
Special Topics In Genetics
Each year the Genetics Program hosts a theme based seminar series in which leaders in an emerging area of genetics are invited to campus to present their work and to interact informally with students and faculty. The series provides an excellent opportunity for students to meet and interact with leaders in the genetics community. The Genetics Seminar program adds to the vibrant seminar series that exist across campus.
Career Development Opportunities
A Ph.D. in Genetics prepares you for an array of career opportunities ranging from academic teaching and research positions, government laboratories and regulatory agencies, positions in biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry, intellectual property rights law, and publishing, to mention just a few. To expose our students to these options, the Genetics Program hosts a seminar series that invites to campus respected leaders in diverse fields that hold Ph.D. degrees in the Biosciences.
