Faculty Requirements / Application Process
Faculty interested in joining the Genetics program should follow the guidelines shown below to ensure a rapid and comprehensive review.1. Arrange a pre-application interview with the director (Debashish Bhattacharya, debashi-bhattacharya@uiowa.edu) to verify that you are a good fit for the program. It should be noted that all faculty are expected to take part in Genetics program committees (e.g., admissions, student affairs) or organize the annual Retreat and be present at Genetics events such as those associated with recruiting, the Retreat, and the annual meeting.
2. Send a letter and a CV to the Director that outlines your area of research expertise.
3. In the letter, also explain what you can offer the program with particular emphasis on courses that will be taught, resources for supporting students, and potential interactions with other Genetics faculty.
Once the letter and CV have been submitted, the Director will arrange for a candidate review at the next Executive Committee meeting.
