Interdisciplinary Summer Undergraduate Research Program

SURP 2013

The Interdisciplinary Summer Undergraduate Research Program allows students to pursue broad research interests in modern biological research, which they may not have the opportunity to pursue extensively in undergraduate coursework. This unique program provides research opportunities in the laboratories of faculty who belong to the graduate programs in Free Radiacl and Radiation Biology, Genetics, Human Toxicologu, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and Neuroscience. The interdisciplinary nature of the program transcends traditional discipline-specific boundaries to provide an exciting research training experience.

To provide direct laboratory research experience under the mentorship of research faculty to talented undergraduate bioscience majors and to introduce them to the challenges and rewards provided by a research career.

Students who have completed the sophomore or junior year, majoring in any area of the biological sciences at an accredited four-year college or university are eligible. Women and members of underrepresented minority groups are encouraged to apply. This program is open to US citzens or permanent residents.
